Entrada is a Planned Unit Development (PUD) and was approved by the Community Development District in (CDD) in 2019. Consisting of about 580-acres in St. Johns County, within the academic excellence of St. Johns School District, and will house about 900 homes and townhomes when the build-out is complete! Basically, the CDD places the cost structure primarily on the residents for the development and maintenance of things like area roads, stormwater systems, landscaping, and recreation, etc. – all of which are required to adhere to county laws, zoning, and the county comprehensive plan!

Entrada is a DR Horton development with two primary sections:

As with other DR Horton developments, community amenities are superb! Fishing pond, exercise/fitness center, pool, splash pad, meeting room, and more will be included here. The Dorado @ Entrada is a gated community as well.

Founded in 1565 by Spanish explorers, St. Augustine is the oldest continually inhabited European settlement in the contiguous United States! And, it has the history, charm, and character to match this level of longevity! Living in the St. Augustine area you will want to take note of some homeowner’ish things:

  • Understanding of the Homestead Exemption
  • The annual beach pass for $50 – allows you to drive onto the beach!
  • Tropical storms/hurricane season – this doesn’t affect St. Augustine as much as other areas in our beautiful state, but you will need to gain proper insurance coverage.
  • Know the Bridge of Lions schedule! This will avoid being caught in traffic – even if you are, roll down your window and enjoy the sea breeze!
  • 40 miles north and you have access to the Jacksonville airport.

Whatever you like to do – you will find it nearby!

We’ve managed to maintain a small-town vibe here in St. Augustine, yet with oodles of things to do. You will find a sense of community, connection, and friendly charm.

The City of St. Augustine sponsors several community events, including:

  • Concerts in the Plaza – Thursday evenings June through August
  • Light Up! Night – kicking off the holiday season – leading to the ongoing Nights of Lights
  • Nights of Lights – one of the world’s top holiday lights displays!
  • 4th of July Fireworks over the Matanzas

The city website details all things city – and there is a lot there! This is a city that takes extreme care of the land, history, and people.  Basically, big-city planning for a city with wonderful small-town tendencies. A great mix!

Historic sites to visit:

There is no shortage of fun in town – museums, local shops and boutiques (shopping local and supporting local is BIG here!), trolley tours, haunted/ghost tours, all things water/ocean – sailing, fishing, parasailing, kayaking, swimming, relaxing …

Lots of live music here. Many restaurants have live music. There are “Music by the Sea” concerts. The cultural aspect continues with local artists, galleries, and art fairs/festivals.
